Nursing home litigation is the process of filing a lawsuit to obtain fair
compensation for somebody who has been injured in a nursing home or in a
tragic situation for the family members who have lost a loved one in a
nursing home due to the nursing home's neglect.
In a nursing home case, we're trying to obtain money damages for our
client, because that's the only way to compensate somebody for the loss of
a loved one. There are two types of damages that we can recover in a
nursing home case. One is called compensatory damages, and that's for the
medical expenses, the pain, the suffering, everything that the patient went
through. But in many times we can also seek what's called punitive damages,
and that's for the purpose of punishing the nursing home for egregious
conduct, and, under Virginia law, we can collect up to $350,000.
When selecting a nursing home lawyer, there is no more important question
than finding out how experienced the lawyer is. I have been handling
nursing home cases since I started practice back in 1998. And the types of
cases that I have been handling have ranged from numerous pressure ulcer
cases, malnutrition, falls in nursing homes, medication errors, the whole
gamut I've handled. And that's what we offer here is we offer experience.
So when selecting a nursing home lawyer, you need to ask that question:
How many cases have you handled, and what have your results been?
If you would like more information about my experience handling nursing
home cases, all you have to do is pick up the phone and call me, or you can
email me directly from the website, and I'll be back in touch with you
within the same day or next day at the latest.
