Silverman Law Firm is the Beer Sponsor of the Icicle Charity Bike Ride
Since 1999, I have represented cyclists who were unfortunately involved in bike wrecks due to no fault of their own. More recently I have become involved in the cycling community both as a rider and as a charitable supporter. One of the many things I love about Richmond Area Bicycling Association is its commitment to charity through the RABA Foundation. The newest charity event is the Icicle Bicycle Ride and Furndraiser on February 24, 2019. The ride supports both Bikes for Kids and Soles4Souls.
Every year Bikes for Kids provides hundreds of bikes to lower income kids throughout the Richmond area. Importantly with every bike comes a helmet. Think about what getting that first bike meant to you. Many families can not afford such a "luxury."
Soles4Souls provides shoes to people who need them most. Lacking something as basic as good footwear leads to a loss of dignity and practically can make it a challenge to go to school, apply for a job, and it puts people at risk of injury and disease.
Getting to the fun part, the ride has two options of 34 and or 42 miles. There will be ample hot food and beer indoors at the end of the ride. Please consider joining me. Bring a pair of lightly worn shoes if you have that you can give away. I will be doing the 42 mile route. If the weather turns bad, I'll just eat and drink so we'll have a great time no matter what.
